That’s what I feel every new year. What a stupid idea for a holiday. (If you like it for whatever reason, I don’t understand how/why, but good for you). Today is just another Thursday.

One of very few days a year I have to abstain from television and social media all together (not as difficult as it seems). S crew this stupidly romantic waste of a day.

It is a BS day.  I feel like anyone who puts effort in is just compensating for the rest of the time when they treat their partner like shit.

It’s a contrived holiday to be sure. It’s kind of more fun in the school kids version.

I understand being alone, but look at it this way. You save money. And, compared to those of us with kids, you’ll probably get more action tonight if you have a computer, a dark room, and some hand lotion.

You’ re sad because other people are happy and doing things with other people and you’re not for one reason or another?

Look at it this way, if they're on your social media you must know them in some context, be happy for them, it's not like they are doing it to spite you, you shouldn't always find the negatives of everything.

Not really, no. I just finished a pretty darn good breakfast. Regardless of my relationship status (single) I will always think of Valentine’s Day as such.

The other day my wife asked me if I was going to the gym on Thursday. I was like, “uhh maybe?” because I didn’t remember in that moment that Thursday was Valentine’s day. I got in a little trouble for that but quickly recovered with the old “you know I never know what day it is anyway” excuse.

Always saw this in a similar vein as the resolutions associated with New Year’s. Healthy self-improvement and relationship efforts don’t need an arbitrary day. The obnoxious flood of advertisements and social media signalling don’t help either.
